Value Engineering & Design Validation
Verification through Laser Scan/Point Cloud Conversion
Verification through Laser scans or, Point Cloud conversion is the largest
spread technique used for conversion of current structures or for buildings
under construction into ‘As-Built’ models. This is an efficient method in which
the real conditions at the site can be easily tracked and complied with.
Laser scanning is conducted for current systems, and the point cloud is
transformed by BIM mapping into built-in knowledge rich models. Normal laser
scanning is conducted at various stages of the project to ensure that the model
is updated in a phase-wise manner with on-site development. It also helps to
monitor the MEP components that are after completion and to make the necessary
changes concerning the site.
Verification Through Mark-up drawings or Existing Construction Drawings
It is the most common way of modeling systems as-built. The as-built drawing
collection is used to turn existing data into 3D information rich models for
buildings already constructed. This is a simple and efficient technique and we
have succeeded in transforming many existing buildings with 2D plans into
knowledge rich as designed models, with the relevant details. In addition, using
the red line mark-up drawings for an under-construction project, actual
dimensions are recorded and model is updated accordingly.
