Modernization of Port
Solution provided by PGT:
This project requires coordination with other
trades viz. gratings & piping coordination. PGT actively participated in
coordination with other trades for timely delivery and completed project on
time. Stair tower complete design including tower structure was in PGT scope.
PGT coordinated with Connection Designer to get the structure designed and then
detailed the same.
There was no separate BIM coordinator from General COntractor and it was difficult for fabricator to coordinate with piping division to resolve the conflict. PGT offered help of in-house BIM department to get these coordinated and put forward clashing items for Client to resolve. MS-Team video conference with screen sharing was used to discuss those clashes and get resolution..
Benefits / Challenges:
This project is port structure, with
heavy special paints & weather bolts. It is connected to existing slab & piles.
Anchor bolts were already cast that required coordination with field to get
existing dimensions. PGT coordinated for all such requirements to make sure
there were no issues related to field dimensions / coordination.
"The team works hard and is willing to put in extra effort to hid deadlines, even when they are given at short notice. They seem to have a great understanding of the job requirements and can therefore produce effective modeling, drawings, RFI, etc. It is a real pleasure to work with the Pangulf Team! "

"Working with Pan Gulf have been good so far, they are very responsible and very proactive. Obviously at this point of the Job, I am just able to provide feedback on detailing and fabrication stage. Once the erection process starts, I can have a better idea on how good and clear the drawings are for our erection crew"

"It will take time to get the quality of drawings to Excellent – part of the reason is that our Revit models have a very unique workflow and have to be modelled very specifically to support our AR/VR and Estimating/QTO requirements. "
