The project is a state-of-the-art 10,000-seat $338 million basketball arena being built for an University to provide a prime location for university, community, and high school events. Additionally, the new arena is designed to expand to 15,000 seats and will provide a world-class venue for touring concerts and shows.
Benefits / Challenges:
Because of a delayed start, an already challenging schedule became more so for the initial few submittals for columns and mezzanine deck. Additionally, a new method in expansion joints called Lockable Dowel Joint was introduced which required PGT team to undergo some training while still meeting the deadlines. Being forced to work remotely because of the COVID-19 pandemic posed another challenge.
Solution provided by PGT:
Continuing a long-standing relationship with the Client, Pan Gulf made the necessary arrangements to overcome all challenges and ensure quality deliverables on time. Happy with Pan Gulf’s performance on detailing the initial 1500 tons, the Client awarded another 500 Ton which was originally supposed to be done by a competitor of Pan Gulf.
