Project Description:

This ambitious development includes planning permission for 462 homes and a superstore, presenting unique logistical challenges. With construction access restricted on three sides, meticulous planning and phased execution were essential. To overcome these constraints, the project utilized the Thames for transportation and strategically deployed up to ten different tower cranes at various stages. At its peak, the workforce reached 800 operatives daily, ensuring efficient progress and timely completion of this large-scale construction.

To match our pace with the speed of construction and fabrication, we have allocated detailers based on specific elements and assigned them targets along with an execution plan, including block sequencing and priority. The Team Leader/Checker plays a vital role in anticipating challenges, gathering all necessary information from the client in advance, and ensuring that the team receives the required details for their assigned tasks.

Benefits / Challenges:

The biggest challenge for this project was maintaining the speed of construction and fabrication while ensuring timely deliveries. With five blocks requiring parallel execution, meticulous planning and coordination were crucial. By strategically allocating detailers, setting clear targets, and implementing an execution plan with block sequencing and priority, we successfully met all submission deadlines. This not only streamlined project workflow but also enhanced our expertise in project planning, ultimately resulting in a satisfied client.
