Precast Tanks

Scope of Work:

The design scope involved the design of precast tanks, including the Activated Sludge Basin Tank and Flash Aeration Tank, which were designed as propped cantilevers using STAAD Connect software. These tanks were analyzed for hydrostatic pressure while resting on the ground, with temporary prop capacities calculated for wind load conditions. The Precast Final Pump Pit Tank, Inlet Pump Pit, and Sludge Tank were designed as vertical cantilevers with an in-situ base. Thermal checks were performed on all tanks during the design process.
Throughout the design phase, close coordination was maintained with the client, piping engineer, reviewing authority, in-situ structural design engineer, and site contractor. A key aspect of the coordination involved ensuring the design of the precast walls and upstands in collaboration with the in-situ structural engineer. Additionally, site solutions were provided to address casting errors.
