Pan Gulf Technologies was appointed to engineer a Solvent Deasphalting (SDA) Unit to help upgrade atmospheric residue into higher-value distillates. The complex integration into the existing refinery made 3D modeling and stress analysis essential.

Scope of Work:

01. Complete piping layout for solvent and DAO circuits
02. Column and heat exchanger placement and foundation detailing
03. Civil-structural design of equipment platforms and pipe racks
04. Clash detection, MTOs, and fabrication drawings

Key Challenges:

01. High-temperature pipe routing with thermal expansion mitigation
02. Designing for continuous operations and minimal shutdown risk
03. Alignment with existing refinery utility corridors
