About The Project

It's a 33-kilometer (21 mi) predominantly underground motorway scheme currently under construction in Sydney, Australia. The motorway scheme, a joint project of the New South Wales and Australian governments, encompasses..

Project Scope:

Precast detailing in 3D (TEKLA) for the Exhaust and Supply Ventilation Building, consisting of H-walls, planks, shell beams, and columns. A total of 550 precast units were modeled in TEKLA, and shop drawings were generated for this project.

Key Challenges & Solutions

The project was already delayed at the client’s end, and PGT was shortlisted for its capacity to undertake challenging timelines. The drawings were delivered two weeks before the estimated time of delivery (ETD). This was a multi-storey ventilation system building for a motorway. The collaboration between the precast elements and the ventilation system, which was supported by a steel structure, was particularly challenging. Constant updates to the design drawings and ongoing communication via Aconex were expected. There was a special BBS requirement, and accordingly, CSV files had to be submitted as part of PGT’s scope. PGT’s in-house TEKLA technician developed a custom program to generate the required CSV files
