Precast Detailing and Modelling for Sandwich Panels
Tekla
3D modeling of concrete, rebar, fixing and embeds, and brick in Tekla. Shop drawings include unit drawings, RC drawings, MEP details, and brick details.
01. A 7-storey commercial and residential building in Belgium.
02. Level 1 consists of shops and restaurants.
03. The above levels are residential flats with prefabricated balconies.
04. 50,000 tons of precast concrete.
05. 650,000 bricks.
01. The client’s requirement was to match the shop drawing presentation with their current software output. The client was expecting the time required to be the same as with their previous software, but it was not.
02. There are around 1,000+ bricks in one wall unit, making it a time-consuming process.
03. There were a lot of cuts and components in one unit, which caused delays in opening drawings, saving the model, or sharing the model.
04. The brick arrangement IFC provided by the architect was too heavy.
01. We deputed one resource to the client’s office in Belgium to understand their standards and requirements, which helped us plan the schedule through mutual discussions with the client
.
02. It was the client’s first project on Tekla. We created a component for placing bricks, which reduced half of the effort involved in this process.
03. We decided to use minimal cuts by avoiding line and polygon cuts. Wherever possible, we used part cuts.
04. We requested the architect to provide the brick arrangement IFC in parts.
