Scope of work:
01. A complete LOD 350 BIM model and DD & CD stage drawings.
02. Creating a detailed parking count, both level-wise and for the overall building.
Project Summary:
Typically, six-story parking structures with photovoltaic solar panels on the roof.
01. First, we developed the project template with proper naming conventions and object styles for documentation.
02. At the start, we received schematic drawings and created the 3D model. However, based on discussions and design change markups at intervals, the 3D model was further developed.
03. The parking structures comply with ADA norms.
Benefits / Challenges:
01. Developing the project template:
• Naming conventions for each modeling element.
• Adjusting line styles and line weights for each element and component, with respect to the view scale for drawing preparation.
02. Placing standpipes and fire extinguishers in the model and preparing drawings as per city norms, as this is being done for the first time for the client.
03. Modeling the elevator based on the industry specifications provided.
04. Placing parking stalls with respect to the ramp slope, while also maintaining the parking count level-wise according to city norms.
Solution provided by PGT:
01. We created several iterations of single instances and showcased them to finalize the most accurate one.
02. We have calls/meetings every other day to understand the requirements and apply them in real time, keeping the client informed about any changes.
03. We took training from the client to understand the city guidelines for execution in future projects.
